Girls perform better academically in almost all countries

Six out of ten low achievers in reading, math, and science in OECD PISA surveys are boys. Analysis reveals that boys are much more likely to underperform in school than girls, leading to disengagement and higher dropout rates. The map shows the gender gap, the difference between low-achieving boys and girls per 100 school students.
